Ethiopia Guji Denbi Uddo
Here's a big, deep, intense natural from Ethiopia. This is for our long-time coffee aficionados and anyone who has an adventurous and curious palate. I have been searching for a coffee like this for a long time.
The natural process of drying produces an intensely aromatic and flavored coffee. The coffee cherries are laid on raised beds after harvest to dry for 21 days. The natural sugars in and around the seed are infused into it during this process. The resulting flavors are generally more fruity and fuller-bodied.
In the nose, I readily smell the sweetness of these beans. There are notes of plum, currants, and floral tones.
In the the cup, the body is bold, full, with the taste of brown sugar and shortbread.
The finish is round and rich, with a hint of almond, and some spice.

Ethiopia Natural Denbi Uddo is sourced from family-owned farms organized around Testi Trading PLC, a coffee mill located in the town of Danbi Uddo near the town of Shakiso within the Guji Zone of the Oromia Region, Ethiopia. Coffee producers deliver their ripe cherries to the Testi Trading coffee mill station where the cherries are sorted an immediately placed on raised beds and dried over a period of 18 to 21 days. The raised drying beds are carefully constructed to ensure proper air circulation and temperature control for an optimal drying process. Cherries are also turned regularly on the beds to prevent damage during the drying process. The cherries are stored in a local warehouse after the moisture is reduced to between 11.5 and 12 percent. Then the beans are transported to Addis Ababa, the capital of Ethiopia, to be milled and bagged prior to export.
